Add a Recycle Bin to your USB Flash Drive

We all use USB flash drives to carry our data with us. We also use these flash drive to work on other people's computer. While working on other computers using your own usb flash drive, if you delete a file it will be sent to the windows's recycle bin. What if you wish to recover that file when you are not on the same system. Sometimes, this type of conditions can be panic. 
Having a recycle bin in your flash drive is a nice idea which will store all the data deleted from the flash drive.
iBin is a nice tool which create a different recycle bin in your flash drive. Download this file and put it in the flash drive. When you are working on some other person's computer, Run the ibin.exe file from the flash drive. Now delete files by pressing the Windows Key + Delete. Remember the shortcut keys. It is important When this shortcut key is pressed, any deleted file will be sent to the Flash Drive Recycle Bin instead of the Windows Recycle Bin. 

If you press delete button only. files will be sent to the window's recycle bin. So it is important to take care of the shortcut keys.
You can access all deleted files inside the iBin folder in Flash drive. You can also access those files by opening the iBin container folder to display a window like the one shown above.

How to hide your START button

Start Killer removes the Start button from your taskbar. When you run Start Killer it remove the Start button from taskbar and give you additional space on taskbar, when you close Start Killer the Start button is again shows. 

Though the Start Button is removed, you can still open Start Menu using CTRL+ESC or WIN key. StartKillerplace icon into system tray. Right-click on icon to closeStartKiller or to open Settings dialog. You can remove icon from system tray. In this case use CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F12 to open settings dialog box. 

Start Killer is free, you can use this utility as you want.

1: Find a song & convert it to WAV format. Try to keep file size small, max at 1MB if u must.

2: Now u need to rename these files to Windows XP Startup.wav & Windows XPShutdown.wav respectively.

3: Now we’ll go ahead & navigate to the folder with current startup & shutdown Windows sounds. Go to My Computer & go to C:\Windows\Media. Here u'll find the files Windows XP Startup.wav & Windows XP Shutdown.wav along with a bunch of other Windows sounds.
Go ahead & move the 2 original files from Media folder to some other backup folder. This is just in case the 2 WAV files u created do not work & u want to revert back to original sound.

4: Now copy the 2 renamed files to the C:\Windows\Media folder & restart pc!

You should now hear new music, songs, or sounds play rather than the default sound.

If u don’t like some of the other default Windows sounds, u can change them also in same manner.

Overall, it’s really simple to change the Windows login & logoff sounds, so it’s something most people will be able to do! Also, there’s no way u can harm or mess up ur pc.

How to make a windows bootable USB

We have covered a lot of ISO  manipulation tools, one of them being the Windows 7USB/DVD Tool that creates a bootable DVD or USB device of Windows 8 by defining the ISOimage. Another tool, WinSetupFromUSB, allows you to create a multi-boot setup from a folder containing the setup files. WinUSBMaker is yet another portable application that combines both of these applications into one. It can create and burn bootable ISO images to a USB drive, either by defining the setup folder or an ISO image. It supports devices up to one terabyte, including external hard disk drives.

The interface is very simple, with Setup Folder on the left and ISO Image radio button on the right side. The buttons to Browse, Refresh and select the USB drive to be made bootable are located in the center. Make it Bootable option is present in the lower right corner  of the interface.

To create a bootable USB, select Setup Folder if the setup files are located inside a folder, or select ISO Image if the setup is in ISO format. Click Browse Setup Folder orBrowse ISO Image to select the required files. If multiple USB drives are inserted in your PC, select the one that you want to make bootable from the drop down menu. If any drive is not available in the list, hit Refresh once. With all settings completed, click Make it Bootable to start the file copying process.

When the process is complete, a success message will pop up, and your bootable USB will be ready to be used.

What I felt from the Windows 8 introduction video is that the OS interface is a blend of Windows 7 and the Metro style UI that is being used in Windows phone 7. Thankfully, this time everyone can download Windows 8 ISO-from the official Microsoft website. Download the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 8 and use the Windows 7 disk utility to burn that ISO file to a DVD. For this time, it is heard that you have to do a fresh installation.   OS "Windows" .One day i got a mail stating that......

This is not the first time I listen about this funny question that "why we can't create a folder with name 'CON' , and I’m sure most of  you also try to make folder "CON" just now after reading the title of article  ! if no,then go and 1st try it .... If you try creating a folder named CON, as the mail claims, it’ll get renamed automatically to New Folder. But there is no mystery behind this, and the team at Microsoft very well knows the reason for this. :-)

Why is it not possible to create a folder named CON ?

Before we proceed further, let me tell you a small secret you can’t even create a folder named PRN, AUX, NUL and many others.

The reason you can’t create a folder with these names is because these are reserved keywords used by DOS. The below screen-shot taken from Microsoft’s website shows a list of reserved keywords in DOS.

If you try creating a folder with any of these names, the name automatically changes back to the default “New Folder”. And this is what has caused the confusion. Instead of automatically renaming the folder, had an explanatory warning message popped up.

Here are  Some of the Other Mysteries

1.Go to notepad and type Bush hid the facts. After which, save your work anywhere

   with any name and close  notepad. Then re-open notepad and open your previously

   saved file and look what appears. 

2.Open Microsoft Word then type: =rand (200, 99) and press ENTER. By now

How to fix 'Microsoft Office 2010 encountered an error during setup'

(If you happen to be having the same problem that I did)

Having trouble installing Microsoft Office 2010 on Windows XP SP3? Try my solution below.

It took me a very long time to find a solution to this problem, particularly given the lack of any error messages at all. Just the one saying there was a problem, but not what the stupid problem was! Thanks Microsoft, real helpful.

I checked my installation error logs, and found that installation started giving errors after saying "FILESINUSE: One or more (windowless) processes are holding files in use." But no information about which process(es) it was.

Anyway, after much internet and soul searching, I discovered this solution, by someone called MetaHazar.

In a domain environment, I had set the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service to start automatically in the Default Computer Policy, Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Security Settings, System Services, Windows Management Instrumentation. I had originally set this computer policy to ensure that WMI was running on all computers in the domain so that I could conduct a hardware/software inventory. What I'm discovering is setting this policy breaks many application installations including MS Office. By disabling this policy and opening a command prompt on the affected machine, typing 'gpupdate /force' and rebooting the PC, logging in as a domain administrator I can now install Office Pro Plus 2010 without error. SO, if you are in a domain environment, my suggestion is to review your GPO's for the WMI service setting and disable, even temporarily.

Here is my step by step version of what he said, for n00bs

1. Click Start, then Run...

2. Type 'services.msc' (without the inverted commas)

3. Find a service called 'Windows Management Instrumentation'

4. Right click on it and select 'Stop'

5. Right click on it again and select 'Properties'

6. On the 'General' tab, change 'Startup type' to 'Manual'

7. Click Start, then Run... again

8. Type 'cmd'

9. At the command prompt, type 'gpupdate /force'

10. Restart your computer and login as administrator

If you completed this without getting any errors, you hopefully also shouldn't get any when installing Office 2010. Good luck!
